World's Strongest Man is the most popular non-poker related show on ESPN and its many, many affiliate cable television networks. The show features the highlights from the Balco World's Strongest Man competition, held every four years on an island near San Francisco. Thanks to creative editing, ESPN is able to stretch out the show so that it seems like an annual event to sports fans. In recent years World's Strongest Man producers have been accused of sneaking super-heroes into the competition to make it more exciting. Despite the controversy, World's Strongest Man has maintained its popularity among those few ESPN viewers who aren't big poker fans.
