Wolf Lake
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Wolf Lake was a sitcom that aired on CBS in the mid-1930s, starring talk show hostess Ricki Lake's aristocratic great-grandfather, Wolfram von Lake III.
Wolf played himself as a heartless plutocrat: kicking cripples, burning down orphanages and other hijinks. His line, "Goddamn those gypsies and swarthy-types!" became a national catch-phrase.
Both the show and Lake himself came to an abrupt end when he was shot to death live on the air by his wife, Lady Quim of Vulgaria. Lady Quim took over the timeslot herself, changed the title to "The U.S. Steel Hour," and enjoyed much success, as well as a few cabana boys.
