Wars
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Wars are brutal conflicts in which one nation (or group of nations) decides to fight against another nation (or group of nations) outside the usual international battlefield of sports. Wars vary from place to place but generally involve the use of guns, bombs, explosives, fires, plagues, famines and even nuclear weapons from time to time. The carnage, mayhem, horror and general slaughter involved in fighting wars tends to increase the ratings of news stations such as CNN and Fox News Channel as well as news oriented programming such as Dateline NBC and the CBS Evening News. Because of this, people such as Rupert Murdoch and Oliver Stone love to produce wars for the television screen as often as they can. As a result, many television shows, miniseries and specials have revolved around war and rumors of war.
