Vic Mackey

Vic Mackey was a psuedonym adopted by Joe Higgins (Michael Chiklis), the corrupt-cop-turned-slightly-less-corrupt-superhero on FX's original series The Shield, in the show's third season. Higgins changed his name to infiltrate a gang of heroin smugglers in hopes of making off with their stash of illicit drug cash. Much to his dismay, he discovered that the so-called smugglers were, in fact, Venusian sleeper agents creating a death ray to annihilate Los Angeles.

Rumors that Chiklis will star in a spinoff series using the Mackey pseudonym following the conclusion of The Shield remain unsubstantiated. The use of the name Vic Mackey may be an in-joke related to the character Chiklis portrayed in his previous TV series Daddio.
