V was a popular mini-series remake of World War II in which the Earth was invaded by aliens who seemed friendly at first, but turned out to be evil guinea pig-swallowing lizard people. The evil space lizard invasion was opposed by a human resistance movement led by a mysterious terrorist/freedom fighter (Marc Singer) who wore a Guy Fawkes mask and liked to blow things up.
