NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (or Not Able To Organize depending on which time zone you're in), is a strategic military alliance between the United States and various Western European nations to deter the threat of Communist aggression during the Cold War. Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, its member soldiers have had an awful lot of free time on their hands, and now spend their days on the Internet, trying to keep the peace in messageboard flame wars.
