Threshold

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

In a fit of frustration after the cancellation of her critically-acclaimed but ratings-poor television show, Karen Sisco devised a secret plan to keep television networks from ever again clogging up their schedules with bad shows. She called her plan Threshold, filed it away, and then forgot about it.

But in 2005, the director of Homeland Security, the immortal Desmond Pfeiffer, learned of Sisco's plan and decided to implement it. Pfeiffer brought in Sisco to lead the effort and put togther a small team of frustrated actors to implement Threshold: David Krumholtz, a mathematical genius who could predict the Nielsen ratings for any series; Brent Spiner, a Cylon; and Carel Struycken, who is freakishly tall.

Despite their best efforts, the Threshold team has so far been largely unsuccessful, as shows such as Invasion, Emily's Reasons Why Not, and Deal or No Deal have managed to make it onto network schedules.
