The War at Home

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

The War at Home is a 1/2 hour dramatic series on Fox News. The plot revolves around suburban father Dave Gold (played by Michael Rapaport) and his struggles to keep his life together after his wife, Army Reservist Vicky Gold (Anita Barone), is called up by President George W. Bush to fight in the War on Terrorism. Early episodes revolved around Dave's struggles to juggle work, raising three teenagers (Kyle Sullivan, Kaylee DeFer and Dean Collins) and his relationship with his absent wife. Later episodes are more critical of the war and its aims, and even give subtle hints that the policies of the United States of America should be changed.

So far the series has managed to avoid the wrath of Fox's Anguish Division, picking up several Emmys while gaining popularity among liberals. While the show has been renewed for fall 2006, oddsmakers are giving 6-1 odds against it lasting until Christmas.
