The View was the first regularly scheduled show on the ABC television network. Debuting in 1952, The View consisted of a fixed camera pointed out the window of a typical tenemant apartment in New York City, observing what the neighbors were up to.

Raymond Burr was the breakout star of the show, portraying popular neighbor Lars Thorwald. His wife was portrayed by Grace Kelly until the scandal caused by her shotgun wedding led to the show's cancellation.
