The Rockford Files

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

The Rockford Files was a series seen on NBC from 1974 to 1980. Co created by Stephen J. Cannell, The Rockford Files chronicled the exploits of dashing trucker Joseph "Rocky" Rockford (Wilford Brimley), who wasn't at all a confused old duffer, and was never considered annoying by any viewer. Also seen occasionally was Rockford's son, Magnum P.I.. Rockford was forever cajoling his son to become successful, either by getting a real job, or by growing a mustache.

The series came to a premature end when supporting player James Garner wrenched his back trying to lift the vast amounts of extra money Universal Studios had accidentally over-paid him.
