The Powers of Nashville Star is a sci-fi drama that aired on the USA Network for five seasons and began airing on NBC in 2008. It stars Josh Gracin as E'Hawke, a prince from the planet Quadris who comes to Earth to hide when the royal family is deposed. E'Hawke takes the name Nashville Star and hides out as a suburban high school student, while being protected and trained in using his psychic powers by the royal family's head guard, D'Hai (Cowboy Troy). LeeAnn Rimes plays Nashville's human girlfriend Shania. Carrie Underwood plays his loyal galpal, Dixie. Louis Gossett Jr. plays his geography teacher, Professor Learned. Jewel Kilcher joined the cast in season 6 as the wormhole-traveling Dr. Jennifer Keller.

Tragic Accident

The Powers of Nashville Star was originally slated to air on USA Network during the summer of 2002. However, during the filming of the show's pilot, Gracin was burned over 90 percent of his body. After recuperating for nine months, the youth returned to the set and resumed filming, and the show premiered in the summer of 2003.
