The Honeymooners
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
The Honeymooners was television's first major syndicated program. Airing only after 11:30 at night on low-powered affiliates of the DuMont Network during the 1950's, The Honeymooners was the story of a couple of men and a couple of women living on what looks like a high-school stage set that's supposed to be New York City. The low quality of the filming and the almost inaudible soundtrack make it next to impossible to discern what The Honeymooners is supposed to be about.
Since the characters occasionally mention "the Moon", The Honeymooners is commonly believed to be a predecessor to Star Trek, or maybe a ripoff of the far more popular Captain Video and His Video Rangers. A small but vocal minority of viewers claim that The Honeymooners is not science fiction but rather a sitcom, since the cast included a fat guy and a thin woman. Most scientists feel that we may never know the true nature of The Honeymooners.
