The Daily Show
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
The Daily Show is a weekly half-hour program on Comedy Central, presenting current events in a humorous context. It has the uneasy distinction of being superior in nearly every respect, from its entertainment value to the accuracy and honesty of its reporting, to the "serious" newscasts it ostensibly parodies. Fans of The Daily Show often laugh about this, until they think about it long enough, at which point they begin to sob quietly.
The Daily Show is hosted by Jon Stewart, whose job is to react with sarcastic amusement and disbelief to the parade of idiots and incompetents surrounding him, including but not limited to Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert, Ed Helms, Rob Corddry, and President George W. Bush.
