Perhaps the most popular situation comedy of the early 1950s, The Army-McCarthy Hearings starred Edward R. Murrow as George Clooney, George Clooney as David Strathairn, and David Strathairn as President Dwight D. Eisenhower; in a daring casting move, Eisenhower split the role of Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy with archive footage of Senator McCarthy himself. The show became famous for its catch phrase, "Have you no sense of decency, sir?", which was frequently uttered by McCarthy's wacky neighbor, Joseph Welch (Al Pacino, who pulled double duty as McCarthy's wacky roommate, Roy Cohn).
