The state of Texas was purchased by the United States from Mexico in 1978 to serve as a large open-air soundstage for the hit evening soap opera Dallas.

Since Dallas's cancellation in 1991, the U.S. Government has converted Texas into a staging area for illegal aliens and as an incubator for conservative politicians.

The state's economy is almost entirely based on Texas Hold'Em, a type of poker game invented by ESPN to fill airtime on its many channels.
