Super Friends

Super Friends is the name taken by Justice League Unlimited between 1975 and 1985, when they were under the influence of Lex Luthor's "retardation ray."

The Super Friends differed from the regular JLU in that they tended to say incredibly obvious things out loud, always had to keep explaining their superpowers to themselves and to each other, hung out with alien teens and their silly blue monkeys, flew even when they weren't supposed to, and allowed Aquaman to go on missions which did not involve water. Their main enemies were the Legion of Doom, which came about when Luthor's ray backfired and temporarily made him and all the other villians just as retarded as the Super Friends. They were also poorly animated.

To this day, the JLU refuses to talk about the "Super Friends" period; mentioning it to any one of them will get you a Super Shove off a cliff.
