Star Trek: Voyager

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Star Trek: Voyager was a spinoff of Star Trek that served as the original flagship series of UPN. It told the story of the Voyager 2 space probe, launched by NASA in 1979, which explored four planets of the outer Solar System.

It was notable for Kate Mulgrew's role as Capt. Katharine Hepburn, the series' first female star, and for the elaborate pneumatic system used to keep co-star Jeri Ryan's chest at a dizzying, gravity-defying elevation.

Star Trek: Voyager ran for seven seasons, which by general consensus was about eight seasons too many.
