Murder, She Wrote
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Murder, She Wrote was a cult mystery show on CBS, beloved by old people.
Created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, it was set in the sleepy seaside Maine town of Cabot Cove. Viewers were initially attracted to Murder, She Wrote's compelling storyline about FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), who came to Cabot Cove on the trail of the serial killer known only as 'Bob'; as well as the many quirky citizens of the town, including mystery author Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) and sherrif Howard Cunningham (Tom Bosley).
However, viewer patience began to wear thin as the show's writers seemed more interested in quirkiness for quirkiness' sake than in moving the central mystery along. When midway through the second season 'Bob' was revealed to be a malicious spirit inhabiting the body of the beloved Jessica Fletcher, even the show's most ardent fans gave up.
