H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Electronic Robot-B Model) is a little robot who secretly infiltrated the Fantastic Four from 1978-79 by replacing The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) on the team's roster. Oddly, no one on the super-hero team noticed, not even the world's 12th smartest man, or Storm's sister or best friend. It took Ben Grimm's girlfriend Alicia Marsters to reveal the deception ("He's not on fire!") Reed Richards then deprogrammed the robot, who now guards the Four Freedoms Plaza in New York City from alien threats and Stan Lee.

H.E.R.B.I.E. was also a recurring character on Diff'rent Strokes.
