Dexter is a Showtime original series starring Anthony Michael Hall as the title character, a crime scene analyst for the Miami police department who lives a secret double life as a mad scientist. Unbeknownst to his cheerful, bubbly policewoman sister DeeDee, Dexter has been using his twisted genius to create abominations of science since childhood, and the series chronicles his struggle to conceal his madness and fit in with ordinary society while using his diabolical talents to apprehend other mad scientists.

Dexter has rapidly gained a cult following for Hall's superlatively creepy performance, the series' dark humor, and its extensive use of atomic super-apes and rampaging extradimensional robots. Its success has led to an animated spin-off on Cartoon Network, Dexter's Laboratory.
