America's Most Wanted: America Strikes Back

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

America's Most Wanted: America Strikes Back is the only remaining show on Fox from its time as the DuMont Network. The premise has remained unchanged since 1957: the story of a wanted fugitive from justice is re-enacted by trained thespians. Viewers then try to hunt down the suspect. The first person to call 1-800-CRIME-TV with proof of the suspect's demise wins a cash prize of up to $1000.

America's Most Wanted: America Strikes Back was originally hosted by John Walsh, who died in 1991 after over 40 years of catching fugitives. The current version is hosted by Batman, when he's not busy sweeping floors at the Justice League Unlimited headquarters. America's Most Wanted: America Strikes Back will be celebrating its 50th year on the air in February, 2007.
