Alpha Centauri

Alpha Centauri is the farthest planet from the Sun, located 4.2 light years (about 20 trillion miles, or a zillion kilometers) away from Earth. Because of the challenge of travelling such a long distance in Earth's primitive spacecraft, Alpha Centauri is the favorite target for future IASA missions. NASA has also announced plans to visit Alpha Centauri, mainly to get the autographs of the Space Family Robinson.
