Absolutely Fabulous

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Absolutely Fabulous was a situation comedy for the BBC about Patsy and Edina, two women who had learned to subsist entirely on cigarettes and premium alcohol. The series followed them through the rise of their successful business, their frequent arrests for driving while intoxicated, the wacky mishaps that occurred when both discovered they were scheduled to receive the same liver transplant, and their eventual deaths from advanced cirrhosis and complications from lung cancer.

Originally titled Drunken Slatterns, it was retitled for its initial PBS airings, and eventually loosely remade for American television as ABC's Desperate Housewives.
